The Migration Fair 2025 drew large crowds in Sylhet on Tuesday, offering on-the-spot job opportunities, skills guidance, and information aimed at promoting safe and regular migration, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Held at the Divisional Sports Complex, the fair brought together technical training centers, government agencies, private employers, NGOs, and community groups, according to IOM Facebook.
Organizers said visitors arrived with questions about working abroad and left with clearer guidance on training, documentation, and legal migration pathways.
The daylong event, which also featured quizzes, games, and music, connected jobseekers directly with major employers and service providers, including BAIRA, TEAM Group, Sheba.xyz, IEET, ZWel Homes, Trident Furniture, and Adventure Crew.
IOM said the fair provided information on skill-training options, overseas job prospects, document and legal support, as well as practical advice on avoiding the risks associated with irregular migration. On-the-spot interviews and skill-matching sessions were also held.
The UN agency thanked the governments of Italy and Bangladesh, along with partners and the people of Sylhet, for supporting the initiative.
IOM said the fair is designed for students, job seekers, returning migrants, and anyone seeking reliable information before deciding to work abroad.
